Position/Title: Sales Manager / Business Development Manager

Reports To: Chief Operations Officer (COO)

Position Overview: The Sales Manager is primarily responsible for driving the sales forecast at Lucia Landscaping. This involves managing, leading a sales team, effectively mentoring and coaching to achieve desired results. This position reports directly to COO and works as part of the whole team committed to overall client satisfaction and retention.

Objectives:

1. Set goals: annually and monthly

2. Weekly Discussion & Publication

  • Pipeline

  • Results - sales (compare vs budget and vs. last year)
  • Production - revenue & hours, feed enough work to productions so they have enough work. Good backlog

3. Nurture Pipeline - sales recruits

4. Mentoring – consistent mentoring and coaching of salespeople

Sales Manager Responsibilities: The Sales Manager responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Ability to lead a sales team
  • Aggressively grows the landscape & snow business in a defined market
  • Achievement of an individual sales quota / target
  • Working with prospective customers to discover their "points of pain" and develop solutions
  • Managing key sales metrics through sales force automation and productivity reporting
  • Building and maintaining trust-based professional relationships with key decision makers
  • Meeting planned sales goals for you and your team; hitting specific activity benchmarks and closing business
  • Hiring, training and providing professional development for a sales team
  • Setting individual sales targets with the sales team
  • Tracking sales goals and reporting results as necessary
  • Overseeing the activities and performance of the sales team
  • Ensure all salespeople produce a complete job hand off within 24 hours of selling
  • Work with Operations to ensure that any quality concerns get addressed within 48 hours
  • Coordinating with marketing on lead generation
  • The ongoing training of your salespeople
  • Developing your sales team through motivation, coaching and product knowledge education
  • Achieve their objectives through effective planning, setting sales goals, analyzing data on past performance, and projecting future performance.
  • Produce sales reports, complete monthly forecasting, track sales and create budgets for their departments.
  • Create and submit a weekly scorecard for department
  • Setting and presenting weekly, monthly, and quarterly sales goals for the team
  • Ensure that the sales department works cross functionally with executives from other departments. For example, they collaborate with marketing to generate new lead sources and expand the target customer base, or with operations teams to make sure customer needs are met.
  • Act as a liaison for external marketing campaigns and advertisements

Business Development Responsibilities:

· Actively prospect new commercial leads and clients through cold calling and cold emailing with the objective of sales of services

· Field inbound commercial leads, request for proposals, and scope of work forms received by the administration team

· Work with prospective customers to discover their points of pain and set meetings

· Establish relationships with commercial leads, new clients

· Communicating proactively with all decision makers and influencers

· Planning daily, hitting specific activity benchmarks, and closing business

· Working at a fast-paced environment while operating with a high sense of urgency

· Identify, establish, and maintain communication and relationships with potential referring partners in the respective communities in which company serves

· Develop and/or implement outreach activities, campaigns, and strategies to cultivate community awareness and engagement

· Organize, attend, and/or participate in special events and promotions advocating for company

· Work to achieve daily call volume and contact goals

· Serve as representative for the company at meetings and special events, implementing outreach strategies and communications

· Identify relevant trends and market opportunities, providing guidance and development on marketing materials to support outreach efforts

· Daily gathering and input information about the property needs, expectations, and other pertinent information needed into CRM system for future account management

· Utilize company provided sales formulas and algorithms to price services and generate estimates for leads and clients

· Prepare and execute contracts between commercial clients and company

· Handoff new clients /accounts to Account Manager to handle questions, comments, and concerns from clients related directly to estimates, contracts, or rendered services

· Cultivate positive rapport and relationships with former, current, and future clients with the intention of keep sales lines open and available

Qualifications/Requirements: The Sales Manager should possess the following qualifications, skills, and experience:

· Previous sales experience, minimum 5 years experience; required

· Knowledge of the Lawn & Landscape Industry, minimum 3 years; preferred

· Must be highly competitive, coachable, positive, and results driven sales person

· Excellent communication skills to start building value-based relationships

· Highly motivated, energetic, self-starter personality

· Love for people, outgoing, and friendly personality

· Goal orientated and result driven personality

· Ability to self-initiate and work independently

· Excellent verbal and written communication skills

· Ability to multitask and maintain professional demeanor

· Above average organizational skills and high attention to detail.

· Presentation Skills: must be able to present information either 1:1 or to a group.

· Extensive face-to-face (B2B) selling experience

· Experience in planning and implementing sales strategies

· Experience in customer relationship management

· Experience managing and directing a sales team

· Ability to operate a variety of office equipment (computer, scanner, printer, tablet)

· General computer literacy and proficient in Microsoft Office with a focus in Excel, Word, Outlook, PDF’s

· Competitive Compensation – Base Salary ($85,000-$150,000) + Commission

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $85,000.00 - $150,000.00 per year
